The PTP Tax Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Direct Tax function which includes managing of Income Tax Returns, Local Business Tax, Real Property Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax, annual Business permits renewals and local business tax payments, BIR Reporting new/update of details/closure of branches, casualty losses, disputes and tax compliance. He/she is also responsible for the oversight of the Tax function, including leading, managing and coaching of staff in the performance of their work to deliver excellence, research and analysis, review, resolution of complex payment related to Tax, operating and managing controls applicable to the scope of audit and overall process improvement. He/She also partners with the Business Owners (Tax & Risk Mgt) to understand the underlying business processes to ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place and accordance with the Philippines Government rule in terms of Tax payments and recording.
1. Tax Operational Activities
· Review and validates accuracy of Monthly Income Tax Provisioning Package
· Conduct review, filing and JV bookings of the Quarterly Income Tax Return Package, Annual Income Tax Return Package and Annual Business Permit Renewal and Local Business Tax Payment Package
· Reconciliation of VAT and WHT of related parties and prepare BIR Form 1709 Related Party Transactions Return
· Review quarterly income tax review template provided by Corporate Tax using quarterly 0L income tax result and quarterly Uncertain Tax Position Report
· Review and coordination with location Quarterly Local Business Tax Payment Package, and Quarterly Real Property Tax Return Package
· Lease Reportorial Requirement of Tax Authority, BIR Reporting of Casualty Losses, BIR registration of new/update of details/closure of branches, LGU registration of new/update of details/closure of branches, Dispute of BIR audit findings, Dispute of LGU audit/assessment findings and Dispute of LGU audit/assessment findings management
· Works with different functions to resolve service issues using sound business acumen and financial judgment in decision making.
· Provides overall strategic planning, team development, and business process efficiency to the team.
· Completes other ad hoc analysis, special projects and duties as needed.
Consistently delivers performance targets based on the agreed Service Level Measure and operational budgets. Provides adequate support for business-critical work processes in case of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) event.
· Defines and manages key metrics to ensure compliance with service level agreements
2. Controls and Compliance
Responsible for the integrity of all payments and ensures that appropriate signatories and approvals are in place according with company policies. Performs on time control check and immediate corrective action is implemented. Establishes clear accountabilities on process and controls execution, exception handling, issue management and resolution.
3. Initiatives and Process Improvements
Develops and implements process improvement and drive simplification, standardization and automation of processes to deliver efficiency targets. Monitors and analyzes team's ways of working to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
4. Direct Partnering
Maintains effective business partnership with its internal and external customers by having a clear understanding of the operational requirements of the business. Drives efficient end to end process management, leverage interactions to enhance client satisfaction and to explore new value-adding opportunities.
· Develops and maintains relationships with functional leadership teams and other departments of the customer and within the organization.
Maintain excellent working relationship with the customer.
5. People Management
Creates a highly engaged team where members are motivated to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and challenge associates to grow professionally. Administers coaching sessions and develops organizational capability around process management, building competencies and understanding the customer's business to improve customer service and promote desired competencies of leadership, accountability and teamwork. Develops training plans and ensure readiness of team members by empowering them and by giving them ownership and responsibility.
· Provides situational resolution relating to staff including conflicts, absenteeism and other performance issues.
· Manages the professional development of direct reports by establishing annual goals and objectives.
