Qualifications & experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
3-5 years accounting experience, real estate accounting a plus; clear understanding of financial statements (GAAP)
Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word skills
Possess expert-level knowledge of relevant tax regulations and standard accounting software and practices. Quickbooks accounting software experience is preferred.
Superb organizational skills, must have the ability to collaborate with other departments (maintenance department, tenant manager) to coordinate numerous activities required to achieve maximum efficiency.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills required.
Tasks & responsibilities
Perform full cycle accounting
Enter financial data into computer software, making sure all bills and invoices are filed correctly
Facilitate all incoming payments and outgoing checks, including printing, obtaining signatures for, and distributing checks as necessary
Prepare monthly tenant rent calculation and billings. Review new residential and office leases and lease amendments and create and adjust tenant billings based on a thorough understanding of lease terms.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, Generate monthly reports and present to management.
Support the development of an annual budget and financial forecast
Prepare all financial reports, Reconcile all business accounts, Review and reconcile property payments and taxes
