Position Reports to: Capex and Projects Manager
What is this position about?
The Automation Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of JTI Automation Systems in consideration of newest technologies availabel for PLC, SCADA,MES and BMS Systems. He/she is also involved in the planning and implementation of projects in Philippine Factory related to automation.
What will you do?
Optimizes automation systems: Siemens,Beckhoff,KNX,CAN bus controllers, Profibus,ProfiNet, etc,for currently installed production machinery, software modification/debugging, preventive and corrective actions in relation to the current assignment.
Responsible for technical aspect of the projects: automation and improvement, technological supervision over new production launch, parameter control and adjustment
Provides electricians with technical support and advice within the realm of programming and any other technical issues. Support for all related technical projects, BAP (Engineering) and production projects, material tests and material qualification, new products and first productions (R&D). Ensure the newest and best technology for all electronic machine components, incl. all supplier contacts.
Cooperates with Global Engineering, Primary and M&P, IT within the area of manufacturing process optimization. Administers SCADA, MOM, BMS servers.
Perform any other tasks commissioned by the supervisor. Compliance with EHS procedures, labour law, corporate guidance, internal regulations and work performance instructions.
Understand health and safety aspects of their work and learn about potential hazards, know and maintain required control measures in order to keep their workplace healthy and safe.
Develop their competency to do the work healthy and safely, participate in health and safety training and receive appropriate health and safety knowledge and required qualifications, observe and follow safety signs, posters, warning signals, and written directions and instructions.
Know Legal and JTI health and safety requirements associated with the work hazards and comply with all applicable health and safety rules and procedures.
Always demonstrate safe behavior, report incidents and near misses to their supervisor, report identified unsafe conditions and behaviors to their supervisor and eliminate them within their authority and ability to do so.
Who are we looking for?
A Bachelor's degree in engineering (Automatic Control and Robotics)
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
Knowledgeable with PLC, SCADA and automation
Good written and verbal English communication skills and presentation skills
