THE OPPORTUNITY
PLAN International is currently implementing the project entitled "Collective Action Against Trafficking". The overall goal of the project is to capacitate the government, communities, and civil society to realize effective protection mechanisms preventing girls and boys up to 17 years old and young women and young men aged 18 to 30 years from all forms of human trafficking and provide recovery support to victims of human trafficking.
The Project Officer will facilitate the project implementation with the partners at the municipality and barangay level. This role will facilitate the institutionalization of community-based mechanisms to prevent trafficking in persons and to ensure immediate recovery and reintegration of trafficking survivors. This is for a four-month assignment and will be based in Tacloban City, Leyte.
As the Project Officer for this project:
You will be tasked to conduct capacity building of partners, service providers including children on RA-9208 or Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 and other child protection related laws
You will have the opportunity to establish linkages with other institutions such as people's organizations and other local NGOs.
You will facilitate the implementation of development interventions through appropriate participatory techniques
You will be assigned to document the project activities, processes, and good practices.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Community Development, or related courses.
Minimum of two (2) years' training and experience on implementing projects related to child trafficking, child protection, and commercial sexual exploitation of children.
Has good verbal and written communication skills. Negotiation and advocacy skills are preferred.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the Philippines. Local applicants preferred.
