Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning, leading and managing multiple small, medium and large projects from initiation to implementation. Leads cross-functional teams and works with Solution Engineers/partners to determine and translate business requirements into technology solutions. Responsible for provision of regular status updates, managing project costs, resources, change requests, risk, and issues to ensure that maximum benefit is maintained.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with project team, across all functions of the organization, to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects
Accountable for ensuring appropriate/optimal engagement of delivery resources. Works with functional managers to allocate resources
Develops and maintains project schedules and ensures that the scope and deliverable are fully understood by all stakeholders
Assembles project schedules, ensures all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, directs and monitors work effort on a regular basis
Reviews project solution estimates and actively seeks clarifications/verification as appropriate
Identifies and tracks key project milestones
Monitors and communicates the progress of project delivery and ensures timely and effective communication of project status in terms of cost, forecast, schedule, and assessment of risk/issues
Negotiates and influences cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the life of the project
Proactively anticipates project risks and issues and ensures adequate mitigation is in place to ensure project delivery in not compromised
Ensures proper Change Control procedures and processes are efficiently used to maintain control of scope, schedule, and budget
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise Project Coordinators/Associate Project Managers, as well as project team members; influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
MS Office Suite
Proficient in project management methodologies, including but not limited to the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Agile
Proficient with project management tools
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree or seven years of work-related experience
Three to Five years of experience managing projects
Experience managing projects with a minimum of twelve resources assigned and project durations of at least six months
Experience managing projects with remote teams
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
PMI (PMP) or equivalent Project Management Certification, Agile Safe5, Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direction to project team members
Receives direction from PMO Leadership, Project Executives, Project Owners and Senior Project Managers
