THE OPPORTUNITY
The Project Manager will lead and will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. She/he will also develop and maintain strategic partnerships, and lead in coordination and networking at the national, regional, and provincial levels in pursuit of project goals and adherence to grant and donor requirements, agreements, and standards. She/he will ensure that the processes are aligned to Plan's approaches, policies, and mandates. This role will be based in Makati City, Philippines.
Further, as the Project Manager:
You will be tasked to lead the preparation and creation of the detailed implementation plan of the project.
You will review and approve the activity design outlines and activity plans proposed by project staff.
You will ensure that the documentation of the project team's best practices is produced.
You will have the opportunity to manage project staff and engage with other Plan program staff whose efforts would complement this project.
You will represent and promote Plan International in important events as appropriate.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Passionate and committed to addressing issues affecting disaster resilience and child protection.
Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Education, and other related courses. An advanced degree is an advantage.
Has relevant experience and training on Safe Schools, Community Organizing, Community Development, Project Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Management, or Climate Change Adaptation.
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in managing projects, in the development/humanitarian sector. This includes experience in managing budgets and programs related to Safe Schools, Disaster Resilience, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and/or Climate Change Adaptation.
Proficient in Project Management, People Management, Strategic Thinking, Effective Communication, Advocacy and Negotiation, Activity Facilitation, Result Orientation, Innovation, and Self-Management.
Must be able to exhibit values of integrity and diversity.
Fluency in Filipino and English (written and spoken). Must be able to produce high-quality reports in a timely fashion.
