ROLE PURPOSE
The Project Assistant is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of CUCs Project, primarily by acting as a coach to volunteer community learning/inclusion facilitators and ensuring that CUCs sessions and complementary services are effectively run by them. S/he supports the management team by ensuring that organizational and project guidelines are taken into consideration and complied with. S/he also supports MEAL through first-level gathering and encoding of data, database updating, and knowledge assets organizing.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in Education, preferably Elementary Education
Experience or background in teaching reading to children
At least 2 years work experience in a community development setting
Strength in interpersonal relations, teamwork
Above average oral and written communication skills; knowledgeable in computer operations; requires minimum supervision
Ability to develop new ideas and innovation; capacity to think strategically
Familiarity and experience with the concepts of human rights, empowering civil society, local governance, children's rights and child protection
Can deal with various levels of stakeholders-from decision-makers to field level practitioners
Must have a high sense of urgency and well-developed work ethic.
