What's the opportunity?
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Production Engineer who is passionate about improving production optimization through:
Supporting 5s/Lean implementation and projects
The development of production systems
Identification/elimination of waste
Development of best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability
Development of operating instructions for production activities
Investigating problems, analyses root causes and derive resolutions.
Performing engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages
Your scope will be wide as you'll be exposed to all the opportunities and challenges that come with working on a Major Hazard Facility site in a 24/7 environment as well as being involved in inventory and dispatch control. You'll be responsible for managing the Pulp dispatch process including inventory management daily. Therefore, experience in this field would be ideal.

You'll be a strategic thinker who is focused on production improvements that deliver cost effective solutions to enhance business competitiveness. Your ability to build strong relationships is underpinned by your exceptional communication skills and ability to lead people towards a common solution. You can balance day-to-day requirements with future focused activities by taking a systematic and detailed approach to your work.
Working with a supportive team you'll enjoy being hands on, juggling priorities and working in an ever-changing environment. We're looking for someone who is flexible, enjoys problem solving and can get in and understand business processes to achieve production efficiencies.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following attributes:
A tertiary qualification in engineering or technology, preferably chemical, manufacturing, mechanical or process engineering (or an associated discipline)
Engineering or operations experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
Understanding of Inventory management systems and dispatch
Project management experience and an appreciation of LEAN manufacturing principles would be highly advantageous,
