Description
Product Materials Compliance Associate Engineer's main responsibility is to ensure and maintain the compliance of Business Unit articles in terms of valid global Environmental Legislation. The Compliance Engineer is expected to have the knowledge of current Environmental Legislations, such as, WEEE, ROHS, REACH, Conflict Materials as well as other Emerson Monitored substances and apply this knowledge on all supplier submissions.
Responsibilities
Performs a regular meeting with Business Unit point of contact to discuss action registrar and compliance status and targets. It is important that the compliance engineer is ready to answer and support Point of Contacts if there will be questions pertaining to legislation, chemical substance breakdowns and process / procedure related questions.
Review Engineering Drawings and Material Specification to create Full Material Declaration Boilerplate which contains the actual breakdown of Homogenous Material and Chemical Substances.
Conducts supplier outreach for Material Declaration submission. Able to interpret and verify supplier Material Declaration submissions before it is loaded to system. A working knowledge in basic substance breakdown for materials is needed.
Reports to Team Leader when there is a regulated or restricted chemical substance in the Material Declaration supplier submission. It is expected that the engineer will have the knowledge of reading Material Safety Data Sheets and interpret it for use in the SVHC Analysis for models.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, Chemical Engineering or Material Science
1-2 years' work experience, Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply
Proficient in MS Excel (including pivot tables) and MS PowerPoint
Well-developed analytical skills, articulate, innovative and confident
Flexible to work on any shifts as needed.
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written across all functional groups\
