Job Summary:
Responsible to estimate assembly and test labor hours for the Semicon equipment's and sub-assemblies during the quote process. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, product understanding, application and adaptation of Manufacturing techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to assembly and test, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and effectively estimate the labor hours for compliance to applicable build and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing flow, lean flow, bay build approaches such as S.O.E.'s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
Establish process for manufacturing and taking into consideration of how work instruction for assembly and test will be prepared with the labor hours estimation.
Able to understand the flat BOM vs multi-level BOM and break it into modular assemblies and stack-up assemblies.
Collaborate with DE (Design Engineer) to understand the Make/Buy decision and fine tune based on the stand-alone assemblies leading to buy or make decisions.
Work with site ME Manager and Engineers to understand the capabilities and also understanding other UCT site capabilities for effective labor hours estimation.
Initiate and support Design For Excellence and manufacturing process improvement / standardization.
Engage with respective site IE to optimize layout and to review the labor hours in case if any doubt arises especially if it is a new type of build never done before.
Liaise and coordinate with Design Engineering, Accounts Operations, Account Executives, Supply Chain, Quote team wheneve necessary and have doubts.
Liaise and coordinate with Test Engineering department on testing development or testing issue to estimate test hours.
Liaise with customer for all BOM / drawing / design issue by generating problem report / supplier problem sheet / Supplier request deviation that affects the labor hours estimation.
Minimum CAD knowledge to analyst 3D drawing from customer.
Understanding of routing and labor hours in SAP and MES systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Lean Manufacturing Principles, understanding of mechanical assemblies, wire routing, test.
Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e. Sequence).
ERP/MES System Software
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
Prior experience in manufacturing of assemblies and test is a must
Good Interpersonal skills; ability to work alone or in team environment.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering with 2 years of manufacturing experience in related field.
Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Industrial Systems Engineering with minimum 5 years working experience in related field can apply.
Experience Requirement:
Minimum 2 years relevant experience (5 years for diploma holder)
Exposure to semiconductor industry preferred.
Experience on setting up lean line will be a plus
Know and able to explore full BOM structure (more than 1,000 line) is needed.
Self-motivated and resourceful
Possesses drive with "can-do" attitude
Capable of developing positive work relationship, a favourable work environment within the team and other functional group
Must able to perform and demonstrate good workmanship understanding according to industrial standard.
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skill.
