PROCESS ENGINEER

JOB OVERVIEW
Under supervision, working in a team environment identifies, evaluates, and works to resolve manufacturing issues in the daily production processes. Provide some leadership in the optimization and troubleshooting of existing processes. Participate in engineering activities leading towards the design and implementation of process improvements and the technical transfer of new products from research and development to product commercialization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
New Products (40%)
• Qualify new processes and products with suppliers to ensure global awareness and compliance to procedures and specifications.
• Provide technical expertise pertaining to the identification and mitigation of design and use risks.
• Ensure the product meets the design intent, quality and durability standard as well as components and sub-assemblies.
• Assist with creating target and limit samples as directed and confirm that all samples are available to SI before production quality inspections commence.
Day-to-day support (40%)
• Collaborate with suppliers in problem solving and methods for improving product quality, design, and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality and assembly issues and provide assistance to suppliers to achieve maximum performance.
• Track and trend supplier performance and recommend appropriate actions with new products, including Corrective & Preventive Analysis (CAPA) and failure investigation tools and techniques.
Process Improvement (20%)
• Provide technical knowledge to continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing productivity and yields.
• Assist in the identification of new materials, methods, and tools in order to improve current processes and/or equipment.
• Develop understanding of production processes to identify the key process parameters related to yield and product performance.
• Support the execution of studies to stabilize, characterize, and optimize key process parameters.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• General knowledge of manufacturing cut/sew processes required.
• Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel
• Good knowledge of statistical tools.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in both written and verbal English is required and Mandarin is a plus.
• Able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, etc.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities and function.
• Must show evidence of increasing responsibility with years of experience.
• Must be able to demonstrate a successful track record.
• Highly energetic, creative, intelligent, and logical.
• Able to work extended hours in critical situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Material or Manufacturing Engineering or relevant experience.
• 5 years' experience demonstrating skills in the above duties.
• Experience with Soft Goods products such as backpacks, gloves, golf bags, apparel, etc.
• Experience working for a US based company, representing said company in oversea activities
