Job Summary
The Microsoft PowerBI Reports Developer/Tableau Developer must be highly analytical and have the proven ability to develop and reverse engineer complex solutions. This position will ensure end-users have consistent and dependable access to decision-making data by performing the full lifecycle of Business Intelligence (BI) development. The Report Developer works with business stakeholders, team members, and project management to understand requirements and develop data-driven business intelligent reporting. Leveraging traditional data tools this position will aid company growth by ensuring consistent and reliable exchange of both legacy and next-generation information between data sources and systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead reporting projects/analysis from concept through completion, then automate and modify as needed
Design, develop and test databases, data warehouses, data lakes, queries and views, reports, dashboards, and metrics
Provide suggestions on the best way to view reports, implement report viewing tools
Implement business processes on report development and maintenance
Work with the development team on various projects to provide input into data collection as it pertains to output reporting
Respond to report issues and perform resolutions
Perform data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems
Work with Database Engineers to complete full lifecycle of Business Intelligence (BI)
Thorough documentation and record-keeping within Azure DevOps
Communicate effectively with team members to gather reporting requirements, prioritize work, find answers to questions, and troubleshoot issues
Work with team members to understand the data needed, not just the data requested
Perform code reviews with team members
Create innovative solutions to meet business needs
Keep current with Business Intelligence data trends and technological innovations
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration
3 to 5 years of related business experience as a BI Developer/Tableau Developer
Extensive experience developing and deploying reports, dashboards, and metrics
Experience with Staging Data for the purposes of improved read performance
Experience creating global BI Solutions and working with Cloud BI tools such as AWS or Azure
Direct experience writing SQL within MS SQL Server & SSRS
Experienced in ETL implementation using SSIS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
Possess strong MSBI Stack including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS with advanced T-SQL
Expertise in tabular and multidimensional queries (DAX, MDX)
Expert in SQL Server development including T-SQL programming, KPIs, Data mining, MDS, and working with changing dimensions
Expert in defining queries for generating drill down and drill through reports in SSRS and PowerBI
Must be willing to work in a US time zone (EST)
