Job Description
The Pharmacist plays a major role in the operation of the store by aiding customers by compounding and/or dispensing prescription medications, providing pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals, monitoring customers’ drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications, and providing pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the safe use of medications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies.
• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities and dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians/assistants’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
• Develops store staff’s pharmacological knowledge by participating in healthcare programs and training pharmacy staff
• Supervises the work results of support personnel.
• Maintains current registration, studies existing and new legislation, anticipates legislation, and advises management on needed actions.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of relevant experience and should be a licensed Pharmacist.
