Job Description
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing effective and efficient, flexible and innovative best practice learning and development initiatives and solutions including e-Learning modules, to build capability and meet business needs with a focus on continuous improvement.
What will your normal day look like?
The Instructional Designer will directly report to the Training Design Manager and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to work on writing training material for both face to face and blended learning environments. The Instructional Designer is also responsible for training strategy implementation, assessing training effectiveness, identifying training and development needs of current clients, driving suitable training initiatives that build capability across all roles at TSA, and must strive to exceed both TSA and Client training objectives.
Qualifications
Essential
2 years+ Proven working experience in instructional design with best practice principles
Must be very proficient in using the Articulate360 e-Learn authoring tool
Experience developing and conducting instructor-led training, either live or via webcast, implementing blended learning approaches
Demonstrate an understanding of bridging capability gaps to achieve business outcomes
Experience in using authoring tools to design
Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
Knowledge & application of adult learning principles in Lesson and curriculum planning skills
Strong interpersonal skills in both client interactions and team interactions and a willingness to interact with clients on a regular basis
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
Strong written and verbal English grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage & pronunciation
Experience taking, creating, or administering online asynchronous training
Ability to use common Microsoft office products in particular PowerPoint and Word
Microsoft PowerPoint: basic text formatting, tables, master layouts, text and title placeholders, entering slide notes; ability to use graphic design features to create screen layouts
Ability to maintain & access files in an organised fashion on both local hard drive & network drive
Must have a demonstration of undertaking of formal qualifications or development in learning design, instructional design and/or adult learning
Amenable to a Work from Home Setup and periodic onsite reporting
Must have at least 20Mbps home internet speed
Must have a conducive working space
Applicants must be based in the Philippines. If a foreign national must have an active Philippine Working Visa.
Desirable
Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
Experience with mobile platforms
BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar
