Job Purpose:
A Team Leads mission is to lead, direct, motivate and develop a group of payroll administrators to exceed team objectives and targets while ensuring customer satisfaction and that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Operation Functions
Represents the payroll team in stakeholder calls, etc and prepares and present KPI/SLA reporting to higher management
Works closely with the team to ensure effective delivery of services to client, and identifies training needs as it relates to specified process area
Deals with risk management, vendor management, change management and owner of issue resolution management
Leads the resolution for escalated and complex issues raised by internal business partners
Handles escalations and communicates with employees and other stakeholders, particularly, HR Business Partners / Relationship Managers as needed
Receives and tracks to completion any escalated inquiries and accurately denotes such inquiries into tracking system, determines the most effective method of resolution, and creates and resolves cases daily
Identifies and assists with implementing process improvements based on one or more specific process areas
Ensure that all employee personal data is managed within legal guidelines, diplomacy, confidentiality and with discretion.
Performs quality audits on transactions
Cascades latest process related inputs/updates to the team and to stakeholders
TAX Specific Processes to handle:
Perform and monitor quarterly tax filings specific to processing exceptions and tax adjustments
Knowledgeable of Year End Activities and processing of W-2s
Research and reconciliation of payroll taxes from prior periods
Local tax validations
Has clear understanding on Payroll reports, 941s and W-2s, W-2Cs
Investigation and resolution of Tax Notices
Knowledge on Expat Payroll and US Stocks processing
Background on reconciling payroll taxes to the general ledger and book journal entries is an advantage.
Qualifications
Requirements:
2-5 years' experience with strong payroll tax handling in their background
Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, proficient in excel
SAP or ADP experience (payroll systems) is a plus
2-5 years' experience in managing people in a BPO or Shared Service Environment
Certified Payroll Professional is a plus (ex. FPC, CPP, CPA, TAPS, CIPP, etc) for their country of expertise
Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll system
With background of project management, client and vendor management a plus
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, and Internet Explorer
