Our client has a medical staffing company in the eastern part of the US. They are looking for an experienced payroll specialist to be responsible for all payroll-related tasks. In this role, your responsibilities will include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
To be successful as a payroll specialist, you should be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. An outstanding payroll specialist should also have excellent people skills and a high numerical aptitude.
Responsibilities:
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Answers phone calls and emails.
Performs data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable and confidential employee or departmental files.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
At least 2 years of work experience as a Payroll Specialist.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
