The primary purpose of this position is to effectively execute client's field staff/contractor payroll. This includes the ownership of the weekly pay/bill process, new hire and new client setup, and providing field staff/contractor customer service. This role requires a strong attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaise with field staff/contractors and the internal workforce teams to ensure accurate and timely inputting of information for payroll processing.
Coordinate with workforce team to collect missing timesheets in advance of payroll deadlines.
Track and input all payroll adjustments in payroll system.
Generate report of statutory pay eligibility for each statutory holiday and audit based on jurisdiction, client contract and employee tenure.
Process requests for sick pay, auditing for eligibility
Calculate overtime pay and bill amounts, auditing for eligibility
Process employee expenses, ensuring client approval is attached, and generate client billing.
Verify Field staff onboarding forms auditing for tax details, birthdate & banking info so that the employee is paid correctly & taxes are remitted correctly.
Enroll eligible Field staff in benefits program.
Generate Record of Employment documents for Canadian employees upon termination.
Maintain Client billing details in payroll system, including new client setup.
Review weekly Client invoicing prior to release. Compare to Transaction Query to ensure accuracy of data, notations and Client billing details.
Continuous improvement and refining of the pay/bill process.
Assist with other accounting and finance duties as needed, in particular, special projects related to payroll such as applying for government assistance programs.
Prepare gross profit is report accuracy and analyze and disseminate findings to the rest of the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource or any related course.
At least 5 years work experience in Payroll Management.
Experienced in North American Payroll Management is a must.
In-depth understanding of human resources and labor rules and regulations
Attention to detail and strong numeracy skills
Working knowledge of payroll software
