Payroll Specialist 1 Job Description
Job Purpose:
This individual will be responsible for utilising their strong payroll and administrative skills to support the RELX payroll team in processing the monthly payrolls.
Responsibilities:
• Full end to end US payroll processing to be input onto RELX payroll system with support from a senior payroll administrator
• Running interface files from the HR system and uploading these onto the payroll system
• Assist in checking payroll input for data entry accuracy, including self and peer reviews and making necessary adjustments and corrections
• Engagement with internal stakeholder within the business to gather the latest updates impacting individuals pay. This requires teaming/collaboration with other teams that deliver payments/deductions via payroll.
• Maintaining employee payroll files and ensuring all paperwork is filed timely
• Responsible for archiving payroll files
• Responsible for producing pre-commit and post-commit reports to ensure compliance of SOX controls and audit requirements
• Respond to queries raised by internal and external customers in a professional manner and resolve payroll related queries, issues and disputes
• Responsible for maintaining an excellent working relationship to ensure the payroll department works as a team
• Completes spreadsheets and use administrative software to make sure employees are paid for the hours that they work
