Job Summary
Payroll and bookkeeper
Integral in all aspects will be review/refinement of process flows - and hence the process flows will support development in areas not specifically worked on previously.
Role content
Bookkeeping activities (70% of time)
-Perform all transactional recording - in Xero and QBO, using HubDoc.
-Identify data gaps and ensure these are closed in good time.
-Prepare records ready for generation of VAT returns - mostly Xero, some QBO.
Payroll (25% of time)
-Lead our client payroll activity, achieving right first time every cycle, and proactively managing queries arising.
-Run all UK payrolls including dealing with queries. Run 2x non-UK payrolls.
-Send P30s and support HMRC liability queries.
-Prepare and file P11Ds.
-Run end of payroll year cycles.
CIS (5% of time)
-Prepare/file monthly CIS contractor returns.
-Prepare and file EPS for CIS suffered (CIS contractors and limited company CIS sub-contractors).
Requirements
-Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
-3-5 years relevant experience working in UK accounting or bookkeeping.
-Direct experience of processing UK payroll including calculating pay adjustments. Software exposure to Moneysoft or Brightpay would be beneficial
-Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Proficient skills in Xero and Microsoft Excel
-Significant experience running all bookkeeping functions (bank coding and reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable). Good understanding of the UK or similar VAT regime is preferable.
