Job Description:
As a Chase Merchant Services Operations Reconciliation Specialist, you will perform moderately to extremely complex reconciliations on assigned accounts. The role requires a skilled understanding of accounting concepts, Excel knowledge and the ability to learn/utilize reconciliation software tools. Responsible for routine decisions, determination of course of action and assisting other team members.
We are seeking experienced individuals who possess the ability to support reporting needs from data management to data visualization. In addition, we're looking for talented resources to add to our team who demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and in writing) and are able to professionally interact with internal partners by conveying a sense of ownership and a commitment to building relationships.
Job Responsibilities
Obtain end-to-end understanding of assigned accounts, including surrounding operations impacting the account, areas generating GL entries to the account, system interfaces, and transaction flow of originating and clearing entries
Research and resolve moderate to complex outstanding reconciling items/breaks
Communicate with internal business partners to facilitate resolution of outstanding items
Timely identify and escalate problem items, trends, and exceptions to clearing standards on assigned accounts
Complete cross-training to provide backup for other reconcilers
Participate as needed in project activity and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as assigned
Ensure adherence to Corporate Accounting and departmental policies and procedure
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
Have excellent attention to detail and concern for all aspects of the job
Are focused on the customer
Adapt to changing needs and deadlines and remain calm when under pressure
Are able to evaluate and analyze data from multiple sources in a fast-paced environment
Prioritize tasks appropriately without jeopardizing world-class service
Accounting /bookkeeping experience
Analytical skills, strong problem-solving skills and a high level of proficiency
Proficient with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), typing and ten-key/calculator
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
Good written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with management
Team Player and the ability to help other team members with reconciliations
