Job Summary:
The Parts Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the automotive parts department, ensuring efficient inventory management, timely procurement, and excellent customer service. This role plays a critical part in supporting service technicians, maintaining optimal stock levels, and driving departmental performance aligned with company goals.Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and reorder parts to maintain optimal inventory.
Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
Manage returns, warranties, and obsolete parts.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
Source parts from approved suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
Team Leadership:
Supervise parts clerks and inventory staff.
Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Customer Service:
Assist internal departments and external customers with parts inquiries.
Ensure prompt and accurate fulfillment of parts requests.
Resolve issues related to orders, billing, or delivery.
Operational Efficiency:
Implement process improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
Collaborate with service and sales departments to forecast parts needs.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the parts area.
