Overseas Shipping AssistantVirtual Staff 365

Our client is a furniture importer and retailer here in Australia. They are looking to employ a Shipping Assistant, to help free up time for the buyers so they can go buy more great product. Once the buyer has placed the orders with the overseas manufacturers, you will take over to ensure that the order is shipped to Australia as planned. All shipments are done in full container loads, so you should have experience dealing with:
factories
freight forwarders
importers
You will be responsible for:
capturing Purchase Orders
liaising with factories and freight/shipping companies
tracking the delivery of all the orders into the warehouse
updating the system with the inventory received
taking care of returns, credit notes & claims against overseas suppliers
any other tasks that may be required to assist with this role.
Requirements
The company uses Netsuite and ideally you will have the following experience:
1-2 years purchasing experience
ERP / Netsuite experience is preferred
Intermediate Excel skills
You should be able to demonstrate that you:
have experience in similar role and have excellent understanding of the shipping process
can work independently under pressure
have excellent attention to detail
can communicate by phone or email easily with overseas factories, and freight forwarders
You must have:
a excellent working PC/Laptop with MS OFFICE (version 2013 or latest) installed
a "can-do" attitude to everything you do
a proven ability to manage multiple tasks
a reliable wired internet connection (Speed should be at least 5Mbps for download and 3Mbps for upload)
noise-cancelling headset
a quiet work environment
