Role Summary:
This position is the business expert for the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions that support the Order-to-Cash (OTC) process across the suite of ERP tools Hershey utilizes (SAP, Netsuite, etc). Common EDI transactions supporting the Order-To-Cash process are: In-bound Purchase Orders, Order Acknowledgements, Advanced Ship Notices, Invoices and Remittance. The position is the primary business liaison across the global OTC functions to the Information Services (IS) EDI team when evaluating and developing solutions to meet our external customers' requests. Additionally, this position is a key liaison to Hershey's external customers with respect to EDI integration/communications.
The position provides input to prioritize customer requests and participates in testing and implementing EDI transactions between Hershey and our external customer. The Order-To-Cash Business Lead Analyst is also the primary communicator of project status to our external customer.
The position resolves internal issues, identifies patterns/trends, and recommends prompt solutions for improvement. Responsibilities include correcting all Trading Partner errors related to missing customer master data with the GBS Master Data Maintenance team, monitoring application error rates related to incorrect or missing material/customer data and maintaining SAP tables to enable smooth EDI transmissions.
This is the go-to role for the business to understand workflow errors and to make improvements to avoid them. The successful candidate will have strong relationship building skills and the ability to train end users to resolve primarily SAP EDI workflow and understand EDI transmissions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Internal/External Process Controls Execution
Work with Hershey Information Services EDI team and EDI third party provider in evaluating, implementing, and testing EDI solutions to satisfy new customer requests. This involves on-boarding activities for customers and includes prioritization, developing timelines and status reports to the external customer as well as business leadership. Additionally, work with existing EDI connected customers to improve communications, workflow issues, and generally ensure effective 2-way communications after on-boarding via EDI with our external customers.
Continuous Improvement and Optimization, Process Excellence:
Identify trends or patterns for opportunities to improve the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) effectiveness for both Hershey and the external customer.
Data Quality, Operational and other Performance/Service Metrics:
Correct all Trading Partner in-bound EDI errors. Maintain SAP tables associated with EDI transactions. Monitor application error rates (related to material and customer data) and identify opportunities for error reduction. Work with business users to implement error resolution with the customer.
Business Partnership/Stakeholder Relations:
Build strong working relationships with Hershey Order-To-Cash associates, Information Services EDI team, EDI third party provider and EDI contacts at our external customers. This includes training business users on SAP/ERP EDI workflow and how to understand EDI messages.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Knowledge:
Working knowledge and understanding of EDI formats and functions.
Experience in Tier-1 ERP system like SAP, Netsuite, or Oracle.
Strong Order-To-Cash process knowledge.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education/Experience:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Information Services or equivalent
Experience:
At least 3 years total work experience in Order-To-Cash or Business Management.
At least 1 year experience supporting EDI communications/transactions with Trading Partners.
Must be knowledgeable in SAP/EDI workflow.
Must be knowledgeable in identifying transaction error codes.
Strong preference given to candidates with knowledge in multiple EDIs.
Strong preference given to candidates who has experience in handling multiple countries.
Strong preference given to multilingual candidates (Spanish).
Candidates must have strong experience initiating and participating in continuous/process improvement initiatives.
Must have strong business partnering experience with internal and external stakeholders
Must be adaptable to changes
Must have the capability to establish rapport and strong collaborative relationships with cross functional teams while also having the ability to push back when needed.
