About the opportunity
Ceridian is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA). This role will be responsible for managing Databases in our hybrid cloud environment. DBA possesses sound knowledge on database technologies, including but not limited to performance, data resiliency, tuning and disaster recovery.
We are embarking on an exciting journey of growth and change within the organization and this role will form an essential part of our Product Strategy for the future which includes day to day operational support to ensure that the application & databases are always accessible by our clients.
This role reports to the Manager Cloud Service Operations and is part of the Asia Pacific Japan team responsible for supporting and enhancing our Databases across on-premises and public cloud environments.
What you'll get to do
Troubleshoot complex database issues in accurate and timely manner.
Responsible for migration and upgrade of databases as per business requirement.
Prepare reports on database scalability and capacity planning as needed.
Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and quality.
Experience in Performance tuning of the database
Secures database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
Helping users to navigate and use database functions
Responsible for providing trend analysis to enable us to make informed decisions regarding resource management
Responsible for problem escalation to MS SQL Development team and third parties as appropriate
Design and document procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Development and maintenance of technical documentation
Participation in Root Cause Analysis reviews
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, written & verbal
Able to develop good working relationships with application & Infra Team

Skills and Experience we value
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
8+ years of experience in MS SQL
Sound knowledge on MS SQL Technologies
Good troubleshooting skills with Performance issues
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions
Experience of Oracle database is desirable

Ability to read and debug SQL code
MS SQL certification
Flexible with working hours and traveling
