The Role
As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will maintain and administer the database infrastructure of the bank to support all business unit's goals and daily operations. You will ensure the highest availability that is within SLA for all database systems through daily database management and monitoring.
How you'll contribute
Prepare capacity management report based on regular database monitoring trends to provide the management visibility on database resource status
Validate and execute SQL scripts based on the specifications indicated in the service request to fulfill the task in troubleshooting or system enhancement
Perform database maintenance such as archiving, purging, index rebuild/reorg using different database management tools to maintain an optimal database system
Facilitate database monitoring using a unified database monitoring tool to maintain a high-available, high-performing database environment
Test and deploy database patches and service packs based on the different platform security patch alert to secure and block and unwanted access and database usage
Analyze and produce database performance reports using collected analytic data and database management tool to provide opportunities to enhance the DB performance and efficiency
Install and configure databases systems i.e. Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL based on the details indicated in the Service or Project requests to achieve an on-time and precise service delivery
Perform regular database restoration testing as indicated in the restoration guideline document to validate the readability of database backups that can be used during disaster recovery
Provision database access based on approved user request to provide correct database access level
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related fields
Oracle Certified or Microsoft Certified Professional preferred
At least 4-5 years' working experience in an Oracle Database Administrator role
A strong foundation in database administration and RDBMS; Knowledge in SQL scripting;
Experience in installing and deploying database servers i.e. Oracle AlwaysON; Configuration of Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC); Effective process documentation
Knowledgeable in backup and restoration of databases
Experience in Database patch management, Database Access Maintenance, and database performance tuning.
