Roles and Responsibilities
The Operations Specialist is responsible for effective provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
The personnel must engineer solutions to achieve business goals, install and configure systems to support the delivery of IT Services, develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, perform routine system monitoring, contribute and main system standards, and research and recommend innovative & automated approaches for system administration tasks.
The other tasks and responsibilities of the Operations Specialist is to perform routine system monitoring, review system and application logs, verify completion of scheduled jobs, perform regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions, ensure the integrity of corporate data, create and maintain documentation, and more related tasks.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hosted service industry
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree or higher in IT
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE or others)
A Successful Candidate must have
- Advanced level of automation skills using PowerShell and other modern scripting technologies
- Advanced skills in Microsoft SQL Server management
- Advanced skills in MySQL language
- Advanced skills in networking, VNETs, DNS, firewalls, and networking systems such as Radware and WatchGuard
- Advanced skills in SSL Certificates
- Advanced skills in administering Windows Server 2008 and 2012
- Advanced skills in administering Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Hyper-V
- Advanced skills in administering IIS
- Advanced skills in automation using PowerShell
- Advanced troubleshooting techniques
- Advanced knowledge and experience in the provisioning and configuration of Azure IaaS and PaaS components and general Azure services
