Key responsibilities
Purpose:
To ensure operational excellence, by supporting the management of warehouse operational activities such as receiving, dispatch (stuffing) and inventory checks according to required standard operating procedures focusing on WND services that are delivered to the highest possible standard in the facility, and that continuous improvements are planned and delivered.
Local Logistics Strategy
Coordinate a specific area within the team, contributing to the execution of WND strategy
Contribute to the execution of enhanced logistics programs for WND clients
Create customer loyalty via the execution of Service Delivery
Reinforce APMM group culture, values and representation.
Operations
Ensure the latest SOP is fully implemented, and that any change to the operation is to be communicated to the team and included in the SOP/IOP of respective service providers
To provide continuously consistent services to all clients without interruption
To support the implementation of client's requirements such as, but not limited to, bar code scanning, scan/pack, labelling etc.
To support the implementation of process improvement and client development plans, aiming for cost savings and/or revenue enhancement for Maersk.
Support value creation for clients through a constant focus on delivering improved service levels at a lower total cost to serve.
Conduct relevant benchmarking and analysis to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
Execute improvements of operations and customer service quality and efficiencies.
Drive KPI's, measurements and client specific root cause analysis reporting as well as proactive analysis to prevent errors from occurring.
Ensure that the team are equipped with the knowledge from the latest SOP/QRG/IOP.
To co-ordinate with other Maersk entities as appropriate, and to ensure that "best practices" are communicated and formalized for use between clients across WND teams in APA
Ensure Direction of the Team/3rd parties (loaders, forklift drivers, surveyors etc.) as required to ensure that processes are completed as per relevant SOP and redundant processes are removed
Manage the implementation of operational processes, guidelines and standards for WND Operations
Ensure that tools are in place to coordinate planned workload with resources (manning and equipment) needed across the operation
Financial
Authorization of expenses as per guidelines
Ensure correct control of expenses incurred
HR & Training
To coach, lead and motivate warehouse team to reach personal, and departmental goals
To minimize staff turnover to industry leading levels that support long range business plans
To ensure that all employees have up-to-date job descriptions, and a training plan
Live, communicate, inspire, and promote Maersk' Mission, Vision, and Values
Decide any training requirements, attend any directed training, and ensure full implementation of learning
Ensure adherence to corporate Human Resources policies and guidelines at all times
Appraisals and competency mapping for direct reports
Legal
Ensure constant attention to the prevention of fraud, collusion, and nepotism in any elements of our business
Ensure adherence with all security policies and SOP's, including, but not limited to those set by the USA C-TPAT requirements
Ensure all operations and activities remain within the boundaries and confines of local law and corporate guidelines whichever is the greater
Miscellaneous
Support interaction with shippers, their representatives and potential clients of Maersk ensuring that the company is always represented in the best possible light.
Regularly review and update with the National Warehouse Manager
Travel within Indonesia and APA as required
Show Constant Care through taking timely and necessary corrective action within all areas of responsibility as required
Monitor service provider performance and share findings within WND and related stake holders
Support team effort in planning warehouse space layouts and moves as driven by business needs
Support community relations activity as required
Support/lead ad hoc projects as required
Support team effort in planning office space requirements and office moves as driven by business needs
Ensure that community relations are well managed and key stakeholders in areas surrounding SCM operations are visited regularly by senior staff and relationships leveraged to the best effect for the operations
Fully deputize for the National Warehouse Manager when required.
