Job Summary:
The Operations Excellence and Automation Director will lead an integrated strategy to delivery continuous improvement, automation, and operations transformation as a service from REPH. The OpEx Director will execute a strategic roadmap to grow current state capabilities into the future, as well as to integrate with business and operations strategies across the various RELX businesses which are serviced from REPH. He/she will lead both process improvement and automation strategies with a goal to deliver annual financial impact (savings and/or revenue) and exponentially greater customer experience.
The leader will bring practical experience in automation delivery, process excellence, and transformation or change management with an emphasis on execution of a change agenda. The OpEx Director will be a collaborative leader who can partner with operations and technology teams to drive change and disrupt the status quo, and execute change across diverse businesses with independent strategies and at various levels of automation maturity. He/she will champion the adoption of automation technologies and establish a rigor for ideation, delivery and validation of a large portfolio of automation ideas both internally to REPH and in collaboration with RELX business units.
This role oversees an integrated portfolio of capabilities from continuous improvement and process engineering to automation (including assisted automation, RPA, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence).
An expert at employment of automation to achieve business results.
Coordinates and builds synergy across an Automation Community of Practice within REPH, and the various roles/organizations across RELX business partners.
Work with business and operations leaders to align transformation objectives to process improvement and/or automation solutions. Deploys OpEx managers to work in collaborations with Operations and Relationship Managers to create a roadmap for each function or division.
Coordinates the entire automation lifecycle delivered from REPH; drives innovation and ideation to create new initiatives and 'fill a multiyear funnel' of opportunities that advance the strategic goals of the business - enabling improvements in customer experience, Revenue generation, Operational efficiency and productivity.
The role will take a holistic view of automation across the value chains and help design and deliver automation platforms that can scale at global level.
Integrates Process Improvement and automation projects with Agile, employing Agile methodology as an enabler of automation initiatives or the overarching digital transformation strategy.
Works in a highly-matriced environment including business partners, business operations and technology teams, internal REPH operations and functional teams, and dedicated OpEx resources.
A member of the REPH Senior Leadership Team, representing REPH and engaged in cross-functional strategy and initiatives
Key measures of success : Year on Year Expense Reduction, Automation %, Influenced Revenue, NPS, and operational measures (e.g. turn around time, process quality, resolution time, etc.)
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in leading engagements for digital transformation, automation, or process improvement
Practical experience in driving a digital change agenda for a multinational organization and/or Global Business Services model
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline; MBA preferred.
Strategic thinker with deep business acumen and understanding of how emerging technologies ( AI, RPA, BPM ) will contribute to business strategy.
Experience in creating executive presentations and writing business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives, process improvement initiatives, or IT transformation
Proven experience in working with matrix teams for planning/structuring analytical work, facilitating team workshops, and developing technology strategy recommendations
Must be able to work effectively in a role that may not have line authority, but requires skills and influence based relationships.
Ability to work closely with the business functions and IT teams and establish strong relationships - both internally with business units, and externally, with vendors and providers.
Effective communicator is highly articulate and able to convey important messages both verbally and in writing within REPH and to stakeholders.
