Job Purpose:
Develop and implement plans and programs to ensure effective and cost efficient operations
Major Responsibilities:
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the following Sections:
Documentation and Cash Settlement
Custodianship, Clearing and Securities Settlement
Expanded Services
Oversees accurate and timely processing of cash/stock settlement transactions
Drives continuous process improvement initiatives within operating units
Works closely with the back office units of both local and foreign counterparties
Collaborates closely with Product Development for implementation of new products and services
Coordinates closely with IT for system enhancements and projects prioritization
Coordinates with Sales team to forecast volumes for capacity planning
Ensures availability of credit lines and securities borrowing with counterparties, to support equities trading and settlement requirements
Reviews/authorizes online banking transactions related to trading and settlement
Reviews/authorizes back office system entries related to trading and settlement
Signs/approves various reports and documents handled by the department
Signs checks and bank-related transaction application forms
Participates in local organizations and networks with industry participants in order to foster goodwill, generate top of mind awareness, remain updated on industry news and respond quickly to industry developments
Conducts regular meeting and consultation with the Section Heads on process, system and personnel issues/concerns
Performs other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
Education: College graduate of a four-year business course preferably in Economics, Financial Management, Management Engineering, or at least two years' related experience and/or training in the trading business.
Experience: at least 5 years' leadership experience in backroom operations and financial accounting.
Skill: Good arithmetic/computational reasoning, deductive and inductive reasoning.
Knowledge: must have a sound knowledge of capital markets (i.e. debt and equity market both local and global), must develop expertise in interpreting implications for investment decisions. Must have good comprehension of financial accounts, economies and politics
