The Officer (Independent Retail) contributes to the achievement of the company's volume and margin targets, by facilitating the end-to-end acquisition and management of non-SEAOIL station accounts to the SEAOIL brand through exclusive fuel and lubricants supply/inventory arrangements within a specified geographical area. This role enables an employee to utilize and develop his/her negotiation, communication, customer service skills and experiences by building and maintaining professional relationships with target clients.
Success in the role will require you to fulfill the following responsibilities:
1. Sources non-SEAOIL station account leads and facilitates sales presentations and negotiations with potential customers
2. Monitors competitors' market activities and recommends potential courses of action, to maximize opportunities to acquire new accounts or grow existing customers
3. Reviews customers' documents in consultation with internal stakeholders, and performs ocular inspections and internal feasibility studies to determine volume and margin potential/opportunities
4. Prepares contracts/agreements for execution, including documents required for the approval of applicable credit terms, and facilitates customers' enrollment in all relevant databases/dashboards, in coordination with internal stakeholders
5. Offers proposals to customers based on pricing arrangements approved by Management and its authorized representatives
6. Solicits orders from existing customers and coordinates with internal stakeholders for its timely and accurate delivery
7. Coordinates with existing customers to ensure timely and complete payment remittance for delivered products
8. Maintains regular communication with customers to address concerns on delivery procedures, necessary price adjustments, credit lines, and future product purchases
Preferred Qualifications for the Role:
Graduate of any four-year course (preferably related to Business) and from reputable universities
With driver's license (can drive an M/T vehicle)
With at least three years of relevant work experience in sales, preferably in petroleum (fuels and lubricants) or retail
Experience in sales pipeline management (including maintaining and updating a database of leads) is an advantage
Must not have any pattern of "jumpy" behaviour
Must have a network of prospect accounts/customers
Adept in presentation skills, negotiation skills, selling skills, basic understanding of financial statements, market intelligence (environmental scanning), and business casing (feasibility studies)
Demonstrates strong critical thinking and analytical skills, people skills, diligence, and perseverance
Above average verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of web-based Google Workspace (formerly, G Suite, and comprises of spreadsheets, documents, and presentations)
Industry background: Petroleum or retail industry
Realistic Job Preview:
1. Working in a high-pressure environment that deals with various external clients
2. Working with different personalities in the workplace
3. Reporting to the office once a week and rendering field work for the rest of the week.
4. Maintenance of business: order taking, routine account/customer checks, and administrative work
5. Create basic business case for sales and acquisition of new accounts, from solicitation, negotiation, closing, ordering, and delivery (in accordance to the company's Order-to-Cash process)
6. Will be in-charge of credit management of accounts (including the endorsement and justification of proposed credit terms/line)
Willing to do field work, as needed
Expectations from Candidates:
Candidates who are invited for HR screening will need to undergo and pass an online exam and/or technical exam, and accomplish HR documents, personality tests, and essay exams before proceeding to the HR interview.
