Job Description
Role Purpose
The Audit and Assurance Associate is a pivotal role in the client's Compliance team. The role specializes in the in delivery of AML/CFT audits and Compliance Assurance Reviews to Client's Compliance Clients. You will help with the development of compliance content and delivery of compliance training to clients.
You will have a client centric approach and deliver the highest levels of service and advice to a Group clients.
You are required to remain up to date across all relevant compliance and regulatory changes and how they apply to the business segments. You are to effectively communicate these changes to clients, employees, and ensure they are incorporated into all relevant documents.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
Prepare audit and assurance reports that measures client compliance with required legislative and regulated expectations.
Complete audit/review workpapers by documenting all audit/review tests and findings to a high standard of quality.
Ensures client compliance with established procedures by examining client records, reports, operating practices, and other documentation.
Understands client business prior to starting any audit/review work
Use of conversational techniques to establish adequacy of internal compliance programmes
Maintains high level of client care throughout the entire engagement by recommending new policies, procedures and controls that add value to the client's business.
Communicates audit/review findings by discussing final report findings with clients.
Provide training based on competency to clients via face to face or virtually
Operational
Ensure all internal processes and procedures are adhered to improve productivity and client satisfaction.
Optimise personal resource planning and business utilisation.
Track and report on key activities being undertaken.
Inform management of resource issues/obstacles in a timely fashion.
Update registers, CRM, SharePoint to maintain an accurate account of client activity.
Ensure timesheets are completed to expectations of management

Attends all internal meetings and provides constructive feedback if able

Embraces a culture of continuous improvement for both self and the firm
Individual
Maintain a high level of understanding of legislative compliance requirements by taking responsibility to study applicable legislation and regulation.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content, and participating in appropriate professional societies.
Ensuring all compliance templates, manuals, and other documentation is kept up to date with changing legislation, regulation, codes, and Regulator Guidance Notes;
Provision of training and guidance to both clients and other staff when required;
Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in dealing with clients & senior management.
Influencing and negotiation skills along with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Business development and account management skills.
Able to work well under pressure, prioritise appropriately, meet deadlines and juggle simultaneous demands, be resilient when working under stress.
Takes accountability for issues and actions and leverages relationships to ensure client and internal expectations are met
Supports, drives and influences the goals and strategies of the business by taking initiative, engaging others, expressing ideas and challenging the status quo when appropriate.
Proven track record of customer-facing communication skills, including sale of professional service products and projects.
Preferred but not essential
Knowledge of AML/CFT Act 2009 and application to the broader financial services and professional services industry (accountants, lawyers and real estate agents).
Experience working within financial services
