Position: Office Payroll Analyst
Reports to: Team Leader / Supervisor
Primary description:
An Analyst gathers, interprets, and uses complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results. He / She is expected to provide quality analysis to support business partners and organizational stakeholders in their decision making process.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform necessary transactional processing in his/her assignment
Perform account analysis, accruals, reconciliation, and reporting to support accounting cycles and business requirements
Handling queries from counterparts and customers, both internal and external
Ensure that the appropriate internal controls are in place and are in compliance with Stolt Nielsen's Policies & Procedures, with IFRS or the applicable GAAP, and with relevant government or regulatory authorities
Develop and recommend new reports that will support and complement existing reports in accordance with the information needs of the customer
Support external and internal audit and ensure audit-worthiness of assigned accounts/reports/responsibilities and assist during regular internal and external audit
Other tasks which may be assigned by his/ her Supervisor/ Manager including projects to improve systems and processes
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA is an advantage
Experience:
At least 3 years combined working experience for office payroll with 2 years relevant experience in Global payroll process particular in Singapore and US.
With experience in systems and/or process migration for global payroll.
Experience in a multi-cultural shared service center environment, an advantage
Specific Skills:
Process payroll for different global office including local office payroll
Requires a working knowledge of some aspect of an HR function, and an understanding of Singapore and US Payroll policies and procedures
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), and able to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
High capacity for managing multiple tasks at one time
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook tools, Excel and basic reporting tools
Ability to correspond with customers, responding to their questions and concerns with detailed information
Ability to navigate multiple computer system windows, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
Knowledge of HR systems/Payroll systems is desirable
Ability to work in a complex matrix environment, encompassing a broad mix of cultures and client group
Exposure to process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), an advantage
