Description
Evaluate risks involving new and/or renewal accounts for direct (as per assigned lines) and reinsurance business. Gather additional relevant data, as necessary.
Calculate premiums and appropriate amount of coverage.
As needed, adjust existing premium to ensure that accounts remain profitable.
Evaluate possibility of losses due to catastrophe or excessive insurance.
Grant or decline insurance applications based on given authority limit.
Initiate portfolio review of assigned lines in coordination with Claims Department to determine the profitability of risks.
Collaborate with other department to improve and ensure that client-servicing requirements are met while management standards and goals are adhered to.
Any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's/College Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent;
At least 3 Years of working experience on Non-Life Underwriting (i.e Retail, Casualty or Marine);
In depth knowledge of Underwriting regulations;
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills;
With leadership potential;
Able to build positive relationship with clients, brokers and internal partners;
Detail-oriented;
Excellent communication skills.
