Job Description
A Newsdesk Executive is a major contributor to the relevance and value of the Broadcast service for clients across ANZ.
A Newsdesk Executive decides what summaries need to be sent to which client(s) based on client brief and timeframe requirements. Feedback is provided to the Account Management team on how a client’s brief is operating and a Newsdesk Executive will develop a great understanding of the needs of clients sitting under their team’s portfolio.
When required a Newsdesk Executive will edit summaries according to the broadcast monitoring guidelines and when requested a Newsdesk Executive will order product and/or send Media Alerts after-hours. They need to understand the media and the impact a story or issue can have on a particular client or industry.
Job Descriptions:
Relevant and timely delivery of Broadcast content to clients
Support account management team by reviewing and editing broadcast summaries across a range of portfolios for relevance according to brief requirements
Assist in keeping the log numbers low by delivering broadcast summaries in a timely manner
Alert account management teams to breaking issues that are relevant to their clients
Actively participate in program of “Listen & Alert” by identifying and alerting account management teams to breaking news or interviews from either live radio or from relevant broadcast summaries each working day
Ensures relevancy of Broadcast content through quality control
Editing summaries when required across a range of portfolios and according to the broadcast monitoring guidelines
Linking summary feedback to the client experience
QA’ing summaries for platinum client DFAT
Alert any issues with broadcast monitoring quality to internal stakeholders
Effective communication with Operations to ensure internal client service levels are maximized
Effective use of feedback trackers and Google Forms
Identifies opportunities for service and relevance enhancement
Provide insight into client’s briefs for account management, including irrelevant prospecting, missed coverage and identifying opportunities for brief updates
Gaining efficiencies by working to reduce ‘noise’ in client briefs
Monitoring to ensure the quick delivery of content to clients when required
Working as part of a team to action client requests when account management are out of office.
Job Qualifications:
Candidates must be a College Graduate in Bachelor of Mass Communications, Journalism, Broadcast Communication, English, International Studies, or any related courses.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Has 1 year or more experience in media industry or in an administrative role preferred. PR /Media interest desirable.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database, and Google Suite.
Able to adapt quickly to new technology.
Has a strong client service focus, self-motivated, and results-driven.
Keen interest in news and current affairs.
Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure. Team Player.
Excellent in English communication skills.
Can start as soon as possible.
Willing to be assigned at Ortigas, Pasig City.
