SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer's primary role is to perform IT monitoring functions for all IT Systems within SunPower. He\ she is expected to follow established company processes and procedures. The NOC Engineer reports to the NOC Team Lead and will be responsible for handling advanced Tier 1 support functions not limited to; events detection, validation, classification, recording, troubleshooting, escalation to the next level of support and managing incident lifecycle. Supports key result areas of the company to minimize the business productivity loss caused by systems outages/incidents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and respond to systems outages and alarms.
Manage incidents and escalate to Level of support.
Assist helpdesk with advanced customer support issues/questions escalated from Level I support.
Provide troubleshooting for servers, and network devices.
Respond to issues raised by business partners and service providers
Process daily NOC tasks, functions and batch processing.
Perform and assist with network maintenance and testing.
Notify customers, end users, affected partners, and service providers of outages and/or maintenance schedule via email, phone calls, SMS, and other communication media.
Handle inbound customer calls and general inquiry
Complies at all times the Environment, Health and Safety and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules and regulations.
Performs other duties may be assigned.
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
Educational: Bachelor's Degree or any 4 years related course
With 1 years working experience in a NOC or 2 years working experience in a Tier 1 IT infra or application support environment
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working experience related to Information Technology.
Skills/ competencies: Knowledgeable in IT Networking principles, Knowledgeable in Server and Storage Support, Knowledgeable in Application Support, Experienced in the use IT systems mnitoring tools - Solarwinds, NewRelic, HP OVO, PRTG, etc, Familiar and experienced with ITIL processes, Familiar with Saas and clud based systems
Willing to work flexible shift schedules
Willing to do call support functions
Must have strong analytical skills
Languages: Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
Demonstrated an ability to take initiative and be proactive
Possess leadership skills, self-starter
Flexible to changes and be able to adapt quickly
Organized and very keen to details
