The SDN/NFV Orchestration and Assurance Development team is a part of the Global Network Management organization. This team is principally concerned with orchestration, service assurance and life cycle management of virtualized network functions (VNFs). The primary objective is to utilize our orchestration and assurance platform(s) to drive full end-to-end automation of every VNF from cataloging, to instantiation to full Life Cycle Management of each element over time. You will develop solutions that capitalize on opportunities for automation, and work closely with users, IT management, and other interfacing systems to realize them by implementing the E2E feature lifecycle, from crafting user experiences to demonstrating the deployed feature to users.
Designing, developing and deploying solutions that enable automated onboarding and service assurance for VNFs.
Working with broader Verizon teams to understand the VNF onboarding process and granular steps they employ to onboard different types of VNFs.
Identifying opportunities to automate the manual tasks including identification of new features required for automation and enhancing the features that exist to reduce the total VNF onboarding timeframe.
Working with Application and Operational owners to create user stories with sufficient detail.
Designing innovative solutions to generate tremendous business value by saving time and effort while providing excellent user experience.
Managing the end-to-end delivery of automated solutions by working closely with stakeholders, interfacing systems, and developers around the world.
What we're looking for...
You are curious about new technology and the possibilities it creates. Using critical thinking skills to tackle complex problems comes naturally to you, and you're comfortable working and communicating with all types of people.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with the following technologies: Unix, Python, Kubernetes, Artifactory, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Micro services, SOAP/REST, Ansible.
Experience with cloud platforms and Openstack.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Certifications in cloud technologies (i.e. OpenStack, Redhat/Linux, AWS).
Experience with Open Source tools.
Knowledge of data center virtualization technologies (servers, networks and software stacks), monitoring tools and processes.
Knowledge of ETSI NFV architectural framework and associated standards.
Knowledge of standard (3GPP, 3GPP2, IETF, GSMA, etc.) specifications.
Knowledge of SDN architecture and technology.
Knowledge of wireline networks and services - Private and Public IP network services, and Switched Ethernet Services.
Linux/Unix scripting for TCP/IP stack, Firewalls, DNS, and VPNs.
