Job Description
Network and Firewall Engineer design, build, and manage the security infrastructure of information technology (IT) systems. This includes installing hardware, configuring firewalls, setting up virtual private networks (VPNs), and adding upgrades. Despite the strong technical focus of the job, firewall engineers also engage with clients, relaying information about the project and troubleshooting all issues discovered. They are proficient in change management and disaster response, and they actively apply policies and standards to all projects. They have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining computer networks within an organisation or between organisations. 
Qualifications:
● Prior experience with LAN networking infrastructure
● Prior experience with Layer 3 routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, BGP
● Experience with Layer 2 protocols and technologies such as Spanning Tree, LACP, 802.1p/q
● Experience with WAN technologies such as MPLS, VPN
● Experience with Firewall products such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco
● Understanding of modern network infrastructure security risks
● Understanding of LAN and WAN network infrastructure design
● Experience in deploying, managing and troubleshooting large network infrastructure environments
● Expected to maintain technical certification status with key product vendors
● Additional training will be provided
● Experience with Linux OS is an asset
● Networking industry certifications is an asset
● Prior project management experience is an asset
