This role involves configuring and managing networking equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls while maintaining detailed network documentation and topology diagrams.
The engineer will monitor network performance to identify optimization opportunities, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and resolve network-related problems to ensure the overall stability and security of the network environment. Additionally, the position requires implementing and maintaining network security protocols and access controls to protect organizational assets.
The role includes supporting network-related projects from planning through implementation, assisting in optimizing network resources and capacity planning, and contributing to the development of network best practices and procedures.
The engineer will ensure infrastructure alignment with industry standards and organizational requirements while working closely with IT teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities also include providing technical support for network-related issues, participating in on-call rotation for critical network support, and documenting network changes while maintaining accurate configuration records.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in network administration and engineering.
Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and VLAN technologies, as well as experience with network hardware from major vendors like Cisco and Palo Alto.
Knowledge of network security principles and firewall management is essential, along with familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, wireless networking technologies, and network automation and scripting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required, combined with excellent communication and documentation skills.
The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate attention to detail with strong organizational skills, and effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
