About the Team
The Design Specialty in Manila aims to be the best design company in the world. That starts with hiring the best people and best designers to support the different teams in Canva.
Brand Studio is a team supported by the Communication Design subspecialty of the Design Specialty. The team is also under the Brand and Marketing group. Brand Studio ensures that internal and external communications are on-brand and helps provide design support to teams without any designers.
About the Role
The Motion Design Art Director role for Brand Studio will be part of a vibrant and friendly creative studio, producing engaging video and motion design projects for our Canva PH initiatives and campaigns. You'll have the opportunity to participate in building Canva's Brand motion guideline, deliver a wide variety of projects and the freedom to influence motion design direction.
What you'll do...
Look after the motion design production for all of on-brand internal and external content videos (event videos, video templates, hype reels, and social media motion deliverables).
Produce high-quality and on-brand motion design materials for all internal and external PH projects
Contribute to the creative and art direction of the motion design projects to ensure cohesion across all creative channels, and alignment with our global brand.
Support and mentor Junior-Senior Motion Designers with their craft.
Direct motion design improvements and establish the quality bar high for the team.
Give motion design team members objective and actionable feedback to help ship the team goals.
Help contribute/update guidelines, playbooks and other on-brand materials for various PH teams' initiatives and campaigns
Collaborate with the Brand Studio Manila to produce video related projects, from brainstorming, research, pre-production to post production. Work closely with brand designers, motion designs, and copywriters.
We'd love it if you have...
4-5+ years experience as a Motion Designer creating a diverse range of video and animated assets, content creation, and video editing
Strong understanding of the motion design process in a creative environment or workflow.
You have a passion for developing and streamlining processes
Experience in leading a small team of motion designers
A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your passion for motion design or animation.
The ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment.
Proactively engages in team initiatives and can work with very minimal supervision and offer suggestions to streamline and improve processes.
The confidence to try new things, bring in new ideas and a passion for big ideas and storytelling.
Efficiently communicates and articulates ideas
Diligence to hit deadlines, and offer suggestions to streamline and improve team processes.
