Job Description:
Operations Processing Manager who supports all aspects of overseeing management processing supervisors and processing staff. Responsible for managing and oversight of pipeline production, turn-times, quality, management of compliance and regulatory standards. Management of staff development and utilize the performance management model as well as monitor department attrition. Daily pipeline management including but not limited to: file accuracy, expected closing dates being met, quality and disputes. Able to remediate complicated/escalated files and scenarios without supervision. Participate in various project and feedback sessions.
Strong communication, presentation, analytical and problem solving skills, Strong understanding of mortgage documents and mortgage origination processes. Ability to communicate, motivate and foster a high-performance work environment. Individual will work directly with Mortgage Advisory, Bankers, Vendors, and internal/external partners throughout the Mortgage Origination cycle.
The Processing Manager will also be involved in and give feedback for strategic & tactical efforts to improve the processing department operating model, process changes and adoption of new tools and functionality. This highly visible role will interface with line level processors, operations management, mortgage front office and strategy teams to ensure priority and focus on daily output improvements. The ideal candidate will possess mortgage origination experience and strong communication skills. Strong knowledge of Federal and State regulatory requirements. Must have strong training/mentoring skills.
Functional Responsibilities could include but not limited to:
Manage the Processing workflow/pipeline for the day to day operation to maximize productivity while prioritizing regulatory requirements, closing dates, condition clearing and quality levels for internal partners and clients
Analyzes pipeline to determine individual processor performance and to determine actions necessary to improve future performance
Conducts weekly pipeline review calls with respective market managers and processing management staff to review performance
Ensures department standards, volumes, and SLAs are met
Collaborates with Market and internal partners to resolve production, quality, and service related issues within the team and Mortgage Ops as a whole
Ensures compliance with process and procedures, as well as maintaining high customer service
Provides ongoing, constructive feedback to individuals, team & Market Partners
Lead in projects related to productivity improvements, compliance, and other matters as needed
Initiate the design and development of pipeline management/monitoring tools and dashboards
Thinking Strategically - Be able to drive positive changes, promote ownership and demonstrate "My business Mentality".
Manages Relationships through inclusivity and is able to actively manage stake holders and demonstrate collaborative team work.
Qualifications
Post Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA (Finance), CPA/CFA degree is preferred
8+ years of mortgage loan originations and 12+ years of overall experience, Underwriting Certified preferred
Should have extensive experience in managing US Jumbo Loan Originations
Proven skills at Project & Stakeholder management
Should have fair knowledge of automation tools like Signavio, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
Extensive process, policy, systems, procedural and reporting knowledge within the US mortgage industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to effectively train others as needed
Ability to effectively communicate across all levels with the ability to provide Senior Management updates, as well as necessary escalations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Conversant with Lean, Six Sigma principles and their application
