Trade and Investment is at the very heart of HMG policy. The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) helps British businesses to export and support inward and outward investment.
DBT is looking for an intern to work as part of the DBT Team at the British Embassy Manila. The successful applicant will play an integral part in delivering our services to UK companies. Duties will include supporting the business operations of the team, collating statistics and information, market research, meeting business contacts, as well as supporting in the organisation of high level events and developing visit programmes.
He/She will also assist DBT in identifying export opportunities and assist in uploading Service Deliveries into the DBT datahub.

This is a great opportunity to engage closely with the public and private sectors in the Philippines and the UK markets in support of the trade team's objectives.
Roles and responsibilities/what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
Support the team's programme of events including forums, trade missions, webinars and networking events.
Work in close collaboration with colleagues to support the wider work of the DBT Philippines team, including help with planning events, logistics, VIP visits, analysis and briefings.
Assist the team with local stakeholder (private and public) management and engagement work.
Monitor business and economic news relevant to specific sectors and assist in identifying and encoding "Export Opportunities" into the DBT portal, as well as "Service Deliveries" into the Datahub.
Perform operational and administrative functions to assist in the delivery of DBT projects and trade/investment events, to ensure that these activities run smoothly and any problems arising are resolved smoothly.
Conduct market research, validation of local contacts, and arrangement of meetings to assist UK companies do business in the Philippines.
Support the team in creating engaging social media and other marketing communications content.
Assist in other administrative requirements, as necessary.
