The Metrology Technician is
responsible for a variety of tasks related to laboratory and manufacturing instrumentation.
The incumbent is also responsible and accountable for the execution of the PSC mission, "to maintain the integrity and professionalism of our products and services while enabling steady growth and development." This position will be on-site in York, PA.
Responsibilities
-Provide
Calibration services for Equipment, such as BSCs, Heat Press, Gauges, Thermocouples.
-Assist and maintain the inspection roadmap that includes current state metrology standards per value stream and planned next generation metrology devices.
-Assist in the deployment, stabilization, and adoption of automated inspection systems into production
-Conduct Proof of Concept (POC) testing and selection matrix for new metrology offerings.
-Evaluate new metrology offerings through supplier visits, on-site demonstrations, and initial Gauge R&R.
-Ensure measurement devices are Industry 4.0 compliant and integrate to the OT network structure.
-Explore new technologies that enable in process measurement and integrate to manufacturing devices (e.g. CNC in machine automatic offset adjusting, press process adjustments from inline product measurement)
-Support the Analytics team vision and acquisition of data for machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
-Coordinate and/or conduct internal audits of compliance to current state metrology, and reports gaps against metrology standards to senior management
-Influence the organization to deploy and maintain the digital measurement vision.
-Assist in the execution of the instrumentation/calibrations and metrology services and activities in and on the site.
-Perform routine instrument, equipment, systems, device scheduling for calibration and or repairs internally or externally. Thus may include finding rental replacements if need be.
-Assist Instrumentation/Calibrations group to assure that required process, laboratories, utilities, and facilities equipment calibrations are performed in compliance with NIST, cGMP, CFR's,
regulations, company policies and procedures and meet Federal and local governmental regulation.
-Performs routine tasking for instrument, equipment, systems, or devices regarding calibration within the umbrella of 21CFR 210, 211, 820.72 utilizing GAMP or GAMP 5 life cycle practices and understanding.
-Performs routine tasking for instrument, equipment, systems, or devices regarding calibration with regulated vendors for the life science industry.
-Assists in efficient deployment of resources to ensure department complies with calibration schedules in support of the site manufacturing schedule.
-Contribute to key performance metrics, maintenance services performance, and improving the productivity and quality of production processes.
-Maintains site compliance documentation and investigates and responds to compliance problems.
-Additional duties as assigned.

-Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Engineering, or related experience.
-1-4 years of relevant metrology experience. Experience selecting and implementing metrology and or automated systems required.
-Travel 50% of the time is required
-Proven ability to develop short- and long-term plans to meet business direction/initiatives and comply with all legal obligations.
-Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Experience with evaluation of metrology through GR&R and MSA.
-Experience with new supplier evaluation and selection.
-Experience with change management in a manufacturing environment.
-Strong time management skills to manage multiple priorities.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
