Job Description
Produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory
Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers' expectations and company's objectives
Coordinate and communicate with company buyers on what items to purchase for a store's inventory
Analyze sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock
Work closely with the store's marketing team to ensure that products are given effective promotional attention
Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities and time-scales
Set various sales goals and work with the division managers and other employees to ensure that those goals are met
Keep up with competitors' products and prices, set promotional goals, train distribution staff, and develop relationships with the marketing team
Lead a team of inventory or warehouse workers to receive and record new stock as it comes in and move stock onto trucks or store shelves as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's/College Degree in Merchandising, Retail, Marketing, Sales, or equivalent
Proven working experience in merchandising
Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills
Experienced Merchandiser to produce sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
Experience in wholesale or retail industry would be an advantage
