• Performs all tests like serological, bacteriological, biochemical, hematological and microbiological examinations used in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Rotates through weekend and evening shifts as required.
• Rotates through assigned work areas of the department.
• Performs quality control as required.
• Process specimens including receiving, sorting, accessioning and planting.
• Complete incident reports as required.
• Assists other laboratory personnel when work is completed.
• Ensures that reports are accurate and timely.
• Participates in laboratory teaching and quality improvement programs.
• Maintains responsibility for gaining knowledge through continuing education.
• Maintains safe-working practices at all times.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Takes lead role in the provision of adequate and safe environment for patients and the personnel.
QUALIFICATION
• Must have accomplished a four-year degree in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology which includes one year practical training/internship in a clinical setting.
• Must have passed the licensure examination given by the Board of Medical Technology.
• Must be currently registered with the Professional Regulation Commission and holds a valid active license.
• Minimum of two (2) years working experience as a Medical Technologist
• Extensive knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, histology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology.
• Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment in the performance of required tests and examination and skill in demonstrating the use of medical laboratory equipment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
