Assignment of these NUMERIC and/or ALPHANUMERIC codes will follow certain approved guidelines that are set by the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Medical Association. (AMA) Performs review of pre-assigned numeric and/or alphanumeric diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure compliance with the approved coding guidelines of both AHA and AMA. Update skill and knowledge levels in accordance with the approved coding changes of AHA and AMA. Comply with confidentiality standards and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy regulations.
