Job Overview
*Responsible for determining the health care and services provided to patients by their healthcare plan to ensure the quality of such care and services fulfill the medically accepted standards
*Responsible for auditing patient medical records and applying clinical standards and guidelines to ensure reported diagnoses are clinically accurate and applying ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes
*Work closely/collaborate with colleagues to ensure services provided are met
Qualifications
*Graduate of BS Nursing
*At least 3 years of clinical nursing experience in the inpatient setting (ER/Medical-Surgical/OR-DR/Pedia/ICU)
*Must have 3 years of inpatient coding experience (ICD-9 and ICD-10)
*Holds an active and unrestricted PHRN and/or USRN (mainland) license
*Must be a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
*Amenable to work in a shifting/graveyard schedule
*Can report/work on-site and from home
