The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the medical billing process for our internal medicine practice, ensuring accurate and timely claims submission, and facilitating effective communication with insurance companies and patients.Key Responsibilities:
Utilize Athenahealth to prepare, submit, and follow up on claims for internal medicine services.
Review and analyze medical records and coding to ensure compliance with billing regulations.
Communicate with patients regarding their billing inquiries, resolving any issues or discrepancies.
Conduct regular follow-ups on unpaid claims and appeals for denied claims to maximize revenue.
Maintain meticulous records of billing activities and updates in the system.
Collaborate closely with internal staff to ensure accurate charge entry and payment posting.
Requirements
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, specifically in Internal Medicine.
Proficient in Athenahealth software is a must.
Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and insurance billing procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities.
