MECHANICAL ENGINEER
 
Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. This role involves applying engineering principles to solve technical problems, improve existing systems, and create new designs.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Service Sales and Execution team to achieve successful project engineering outcomes.
Provide detailed designs and cost estimates in accordance with the project scope, URS, and GEA standards.
Ensure adherence to GEA standards in all design work.
Deliver project engineering results within the specified timeframes and budget constraints.
Support Service Sales and Execution teams in delivering upgrade projects.
Actively participate in design and execution reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay up to date with current tools and applications to ensure designs remain modern and effective.
Comply with GEA engineering standards and documentation protocols.
Contribute to the commissioning process of process plants.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the team.
Key Task:
Undertake project engineering tasks such as finalizing P&ID, equipment and pipe sizing, and preparing technical details and cost estimates before issuing RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers.
Provide input to Technical Design to create various project drawings (P&ID, Layout, Platform, 3D, etc.) and review them.
Write process descriptions or Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for automation to support software development.
Generate equipment lists from the database and complete specifications for all equipment.
Ensure all project documentation is maintained in accordance with GEA standards.
Oversee Software and Hardware FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
Support site commissioning activities.
Maintain accurate documentation throughout site installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
Qualifications:
Engineering qualification in mechanical or food engineering
Min. 5 years' experience in similar functions in a Food, Dairy or Beverage liquid process engineering
Experience in liquid process solution development.
Experience in plant commissioning.
Experience in automation and instrumentation
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Deep technical knowhow
Open minded to new ideas and innovation (change champion)
Strong organizational skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable in working with multiple companies, locations and cultures.
