Job Summary:
 
The Mechanical Engineer/Business Operations Specialist will mainly be in charge of quoting weldments and developing basic shop masters, and will support various data analysis and administrative activities.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain competitive component pricing from supply base for the purpose of providing system quotes to our customers.
Quote new and existing weldments using an established quote template.
Initiate and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and manufacturing team.
Initiate cost-reduction activities to improve company profitability.
Work closely with Purchasing, New Product Introduction (NPI), Sales, and Supply Chain Management to meet customer expectations.
Perform data collection and analysis to measure and report metrics for various departments and purposes.
Provide exceptions to RFQ based on internal capabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to read technical details on a weldment print.
Experience with weldment manufacturing is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use ERP estimating systems such as Visual, Vista, Oracle, etc. MS Excel, Word and Access.
Educational Requirement:
4 years engineering degree preferably Mechanical Engineering graduate.
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
2-5 years in quoting or weldment manufacturing
