PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
• Carry out maintenance, plan shutdown and break down to ensure plant reliability and availability. Manage mechanical inventory and spare parts. Ensure compliance with safety standards and mechanical engineering codes.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategy Development
• Works with and through site management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures exist to achieve compliance and productivity requirements.
• Continuously monitoring, reviewing, improving, and ensuring an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.
General Task Management
• Lead in implementing strategies and plans in improving the mechanical maintenance section's performance particularly in preventive, scheduled and emergency maintenance activities of equipment.
• Supervise Contractors and Mechanics in Mechanical Installation Works
• Spare Parts Management
• Interface with Production Team to ensure Maintenance team support is according to productivity plan
• Lead and plan maintenance project, machine improvement or modification.
People Management
• Manage, coach and develop a high performing Mechanical team that meets agreed objectives in which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
• Set and communicate department objectives / KPIs, so that each employee is aware and now their deliverables.
• Promotes accountability by providing formal and informal performance feedback to Team Members which includes Performance Appraisals
• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.
• Manages the human resources requirements of the team consisting of: team and individual performance evaluation and career development.
• Provides training to new and transferring Team Members as per the training matrix including cross training
• Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
• Motivate and coach the team to operational success.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper orientation and training of all newly hired team members.
Financial and Budget Control
• Prepare the annual Production Overhead Expense Budget (OPEX) and forecast Capital Expenditure proposals (CAPEX)
• Mechanical consumables, materials and equipment purchase requisition
Relationship Management
• Work as member of the Plant Management team to share ideas and improve maintenance, recommending and implementing continuous improvement activities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.
• Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.

Education Requirement
Mechanical Engineering Graduate
Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Experience
5 years minimum
Maintenance Engineer in Manufacturing set up
Preferably from Manufacturing Industry or Power Generation Plant
Technical / Functional Expertise
Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Knowledge of Maintenance Management
Experience in Maintenance of Rotating Equipment
Knowledge in SAP
AUTOCAD Drawing
Experience in Machine Installation and set-up
Industry Experience
Maintenance Management in Manufacturing setting
Conveyorized Production setting
